Wood Masters

Over the last forty years, Wood Masters has grown to represent New Zealand’s unique cultural heritage by successfully combining Whakairo (the Art of Māori Carving) with fine European craftsmanship. The locally trained carvers, using traditional techniques, work alongside other expert woodworkers with different technical skills. Made in Rotorua, New Zealand.
KIWI
The kiwi is a flightless nocturnal bird native to New Zealand, and has become the national symbol for New Zealand. It is known for its long beak, hair-like feathers and retiring nature. Maori traditionally believe Kiwi to be under the protection of Tane Mahuta, god of the forest. Kiwi feathers are particularly important to the Maori for their use in ceremonial cloaks.
